A SERIES OF MESSAGES FROM MOTHER’S DAY THRU FATHER’S DAY
On Mother’s Day, we looked at “How to Make Your Home a Rewarding Experience” (I Peter 3:7-9), and on Father’s Day we will be looking at “How to Become One With Your Spouse” (I Corinthians 7:1-5).
The first message sandwiched in between these bookends will be “The Equality of the Sexes” (Genesis 2:18-25). There are probably very few subjects that are before us today in which conservative, evangelical thought has been more misrepresented than this topic. Unfortunately, to a great degree, the feminist perspective has tried to tell the world that conservative, evangelical, Bible-believing Christians are interested in “keeping women in their places.” Plan to worship with us on May 21st when we will see the Word of God set the record straight on this type of caricature.
On the following Sunday, May 28th, we will be studying God’s teaching related to an ideal marriage. Sure, none of us has an ideal marriage, but we all need an ideal model nevertheless, and one is provided for us in Ephesians 5:22-33. Then, on June 4th, we will be delving into “How to be Single and Fulfilled.” By the way, when was the last time you heard a message about single adults? And then, on June 11th, we will be looking at “The Role of a Proper Faith in Marriage.”
May I invite you, and urge you, and challenge you to make all of these messages a priority, and to invite others within your circle of influence to join you and us in this practical series?
