Our Story

Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

Northway Community Church was launched on September 16, 2012, at the Rainwater Conference Center, where we met for our first few worship services. Seven weeks later, on November 4, 2012, we celebrated our Charter Membership Sunday at the Valdosta Country Club…78 members strong! The very next Sunday we moved to our permanent location at 3740 Inner Perimeter Road. Never could we have imagined just how quickly the Lord would provide us with such a spacious, modern, and accessible facility with all of the amenities we needed! Many minor improvements were quickly made to this building, and today we are blessed with a worship center that is comfortable, bright, warm, and inviting. As our congregation has grown, we are offering small group Bible studies for all ages, as well as Sunday evening services.

BillPLTOur founding pastor, Dr. Bill Blanchard, has previously served for 35 uninterrupted years in the ministry. He originally came to Valdosta as a pastor, but eventually took early retirement to become a church planter at the age of 60! His desire is to build a new community of believers which will be a 21st century version of the New Testament church as described in the second chapter of the book of Acts.

Pastor Bill’s style of preaching is that of a passionate teacher, as he wants people to learn to love the Bible and to understand how God wants them to live. Whenever we meet together for corporate worship, he wants to encourage people to live lives that honor Christ, as well as be motivated to touch others for Him.  At NCC we encourage a blended musical style that is participative and through which the worship leader prepares the people’s hearts to hear God’s Word.

It is our church’s prayer that the Lord would draw many people to NCC to experience the only real Savior that this world will ever know.  Our earnest desire and hope is that we all grow to become fully devoted Christ-followers.
