FAITHFULNESS

Posted by Dr. Bill Blanchard on

“…moreover, it is required of stewards [managers of what God has entrusted to each of us] that one be found faithful” (I Cor. 4:2].  With this text before us, how would you answer the following questions?

If your car starts seven out of eight times, would you consider it trustworthy?

If your newspaper delivery person skipped the Thursday edition each week, would you consider him faithful?

If your refrigerator quit for a day every now and then, would you excuse it and say, “Oh well, it works most of the time!”

If you just failed to show up at work once or twice a month, would your boss consider you trustworthy?

If you were to miss a couple of mortgage payments in a year’s time, would your bank say, “So what?  Ten out of twelve isn’t so bad!”?

If you “forsake the assembling together of the brethren” to worship each week, will God find you faithful?

Devotedly your pastor,

Bill Blanchard
