HOW TO VOTE ON NOVEMBER 8th

Posted by Dr. Bill Blanchard on

The two presidential candidates before us have disapproval ratings among the highest of any candidates in the history of our nation. In this regard, there has never been an election like this in our country, so what are we to do, especially as Christ followers?

There are actually three different ways that you can vote for Hillary Clinton. The first is the one that she prefers—a direct vote of affirmation in the voting booth. But if you cannot bear to do that, then write in the name of a candidate who does not have a chance of winning. I have even heard some people say that they were going to vote for “God” as their write in candidate. Finally, you can choose simply not to vote at all, and each of those options would be acceptable to Mrs. Clinton. Furthermore, she is confident that the vast majority of Democrats and other liberals will vote for her even if they intensely dislike her and do not trust her. “The sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light” (Luke 16:8).

We all know what will happen if Mrs. Clinton wins the presidency. Judges throughout our entire federal judiciary will be appointed from those who support the execution of the unborn, all under the ruse of caring for the health of women, at least those who somehow manage to be born. These same judges will also continue to attack the religious liberty of evangelical Christians, and the preaching of much that the Bible clearly teaches will be interpreted as “hate crimes,” especially if proclaimed in public settings.

On the other hand, we are presented with Donald Trump, and his record is less than stellar in some areas too. But we do know what he has promised, and we are already aware of the docket of judges from which he has pledged to name those charged with the protection of our constitutional rights. Furthermore, please keep in mind that a presidential election is not about whether you like someone, nor is it about whether or not you agree with him/her on everything.

We must hear the warning of Christ as stated above (Luke 16:8) and see to it that the children of this world will not be wiser than the children of light. So I would exhort you to please vote for the candidate who offers hope, not for the candidate who will guarantee disaster.

Devotedly your pastor,

Bill Blanchard
