PRACTICAL SUGGESTIONS FOR YOUR PRAYER LIFE

Posted by Dr. Bill Blanchard on

Would you like some practical suggestions for your prayer life?[1]  If so, please read on.  After a time of confession and praise, tell God all that is on your mind and in your heart, much like you would talk to a trustworthy, dependable friend. Tell Him your:

  • Troubles, that He may comfort you
  • Joys, that He may sober them
  • Longings, that He may purify them
  • Dislikes, that He may help you conquer them
  • Temptations, that He may shield you from them
  • Wounds, that He may help heal them

Talk to Him about your:

  • Indifference to good and your depraved tastes for evil
  • Emotional instability
  • Self-love that makes you unjust toward others
  • Vanity that often causes you to be insincere

If you and I will pour out our weaknesses, needs, and troubles to the Lord, there will be no lack of what to say.  And then, eventually, He will provide you with spiritual energy, discernment, and a renewed mind filled with positive insights and true freedom in Him.  Then, finally, intercede for the needs of others, especially those who are far from God!

Devotedly your pastor,

Bill Blanchard
