SEX MATTERS
Parents and grandparents, may I ask you to please discuss the following realities with those within your circle of influence, especially with your impressionable children and grandchildren? It is becoming more and more important that you/we do so.
The sex of every human being is determined by a pair of sex chromosomes. Females have two of the same kind of sex chromosomes (XX), and males have two different kinds of sex chromosomes (XY). Those are the only two options, thus those are the only two genders. In other words, there is not another set of chromosomes for any other gender!
Amazingly, Colin Wright, an evolutionary biologist at Penn State, and Emma Hilton, a developmental biologist at the University of Manchester, in a recent edition of the Wall Street Journal (February 13, 2020), provided a complete denunciation of transgender ideology entitled “The Dangerous Denial of Sex.” Their position can be summed up in one sentence: “Increasingly, we see a dangerous and anti-scientific trend toward the outright denial of biological sex.” The reason their conclusions are so important is because the propaganda of transgender ideology today is that the idea of male and female is a “social construct,” not a binary reality.
Let me quote the final words of their recent article: “The time for politeness on this issue has passed. Biologists and medical professionals need to stand up for the empirical reality of biological sex. When authoritative scientific institutions ignore or deny empirical fact in the name of social accommodations, it is an egregious betrayal to the scientific community they represent. It undermines public trust in science, and it is dangerously harmful to those most vulnerable.”
This recent article is a welcome and strong corrective, and I pray that its truths will gain wide reflection.
