From Pastor Bill

Each Sunday morning the silent Christian was seen leaving his home for the church building two blocks away.  With his Bible in hand, he walked toward the church campus with the cadence of expectancy. 

Across the street from this faithful saint there lived a self-styled skeptic who took peculiar delight in making ridicule of Christians.  One day he decided to “entertain” himself at the expense of his Christian neighbor.

Taking a note pad, the skeptic wrote the following question, designed to harass the deaf mute: “You cannot hear or speak.  Why do you waste your time going to church so much?”

The unruffled deaf mute read the message and wrote his answer on the pad just beneath the question: “So people like you will know whose side I’m on!” 

I like that!  It speaks volumes!  And it prompts a probing question: Do people know without any doubt whose side you are on by your faithful commitment to be in God’s House on God’s Day?  You can be certain that your neighbors notice.
