From Pastor Bill

Few things get our attention as much as speed.  Would you not agree?  We want the fastest computers, the fastest routes to work, the fastest ways to get rich, the fastest…well, everything!  Some of us even like the fastest conversion stories, as opposed to those who take months to ask questions and explore, moving gradually to faith.

All of us have seen thorny, thick weeds growth 2-3 feet a month.  They are a nuisance but, really, they are amazing, too, in terms of the speed of their growth.  But an oak tree grows slowly, while the roots have time to run deep.  We have oak trees in our yard that have been there for well over a hundred years, a testament to the true, deep miracle of God’s work going from an acorn to an oak.  So please remember that the miracle of God’s work is not always in the speed of things happening.
