From Pastor Bill

I think many of us are wondering, “How much does our Building Fund need to be before we can think about building and moving to our new campus?”  Our land is paid for, and our building fund is a little more than $200,000, but we can begin making plans to move to our new campus only when we get to the $500,000 mark.  With that in mind, may I please talk to you about “Year End Giving”? 

But first, if you are barely getting by financially and simply cannot give what you want to give to the Lord’s work at Northway Community Church (NCC), then I want you to know that I understand what you are going through.  And please realize that I do not know the annual giving records of our people.  What you give to God’s Kingdom is between you and the Lord, and I will do my best to minister to all of our people regardless of how little or how much you contribute to Kingdom ministry here at NCC.

Having said that, may I challenge all of us to consider something important?  I believe that the Lord has His hand of blessing upon our fellowship, and I believe that our future is bright.  With this in mind, and as we inter-act with family, friends, and colleagues over the course of the next several weeks, we all know that the subject of “year end giving” is going to come up from time to time.  Well, may I ask that we be alert to these conversations and that, from time to time, we suggest to our contacts that they consider making their tax deductible year end giving to our building fund?  I cannot think of many causes that would be better than helping to build a new church campus near the new high school in a great growth corridor of our city.  And it would be an eternal investment in a church with a wonderful future, and a church whose impact would continue long after our lives on this earth are over.

Please think about this proposal and make it a matter of prayer.  Even if you are not in a position to give much financially, the Lord may use your healthy conversations with others at this point to help us increase our building fund to a generous bank balance that will be applied toward our loan one day soon.
